First of all, which version of tinc is this?
If you got this with 1.0pre3, there should be a config.log. In that
file, you may find an error message (towards the end), telling you why
linking a test program with libcrypto went wrong.
Also, make sure that there is indeed a libcrypto.a in /usr/local/ssl/lib.
