Yes, it works!! ;)
Anyway, it worked only after I set my tap-interfaces with full netmask
and broadcast address, like this:
ifconfig tap0 192.168.1.2 broadcast 192.168.255.255 netmask 255.255.0.0

Though, I will write my alternative Setup-mini-Howto. Hm, is the latest
texinfo source available? I would like to add new entries to the FAQ
part.
