True, but it's one piece of the puzzle.
Now I would use
pathping<http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/pathping.mspx?mfr=true>with
the -i switch sourcing your TAP adapter, and see what happens when you
try to get out.
