Hm. I just checked, and on BSD it is not possible to change the name of the tun
or tap interface by using the Interface option. However, it should have passed
"miadi" in the $INTERFACE environment variable.

But I think you have used $DEVICE in tinc-up, not $INTERFACE. Try omitting
"Interface=miadi" from tinc.conf, and replace $DEVICE with $INTERFACE in
tinc-up.
