It is implemented in the 1.1 branch. If you want you can try it out:

git clone git://tinc-vpn.org/tinc -b 1.1
cd tinc
less README.git
(You also need to install libevent.)

1.1 is compatible with 1.0.x, but there may be bugs in it.
