1.1 will require the elliptic curve functions, so you do need OpenSSL 1.0 or
later. I hope to make it work with at least one other cryptographic library as
well before 1.1 is released, but at the moment that does not work yet. You can
however make a static version of the OpenSSL 1.0.1 library, and link that with
tinc. Or you can install a shared one in a non-standard location, so other
programs will not try to link with it, and start tincd with LD_LIBRARY_PATH
pointing to the newer OpenSSL library.
