Would it be possible to change that behaviour of sorting alphabetically?

I find it odd to rename host files in order to change the order of preference.

A variable in tinc.conf like Preference = "hosta, hostz, hostc" would

favor, without any possibility of correction by competing courts or
democratically elected legislators."
